Rachel Braun Scherl talks with Jim Blasingame, host of The Small Business Advocate, about the challenges of running a small business that focuses on female sexual satisfaction. In addition to the challenges common to all small businesses, Scherl and Blasingame discuss the unique challenges Semprae faces, and site examples of double standards between male and female sexual enhancement and satisfaction products. Scherl also points out that even though Zestra is effective for so many women, the traditional “conversationalists” tend to shy away from telling their friends. Since most women have some type of social relationship with their friend’s partner (i.e., you all go out to dinner together) and vice versa, sharing information about a product like Zestra can feel like a betrayal to their partners. Scherl noted that she and her team are working to open up the conversation and show women that this is something that should be embraced – a difficult task with the established double standards.
